ABOUTYumYum Beast is an original rock band from Haiku, Hawaii. The band began in 2013 as an acoustic duo in Portland, Oregon, with Matthew Del Olmo and Justin Morris. They had just gotten off the road from a long stretch of touring, and were full of inspiration. Matt and Justin simply started writing and their songs flowed effortlessly. They built their first batch of material in North Portland, Oregon, and performed often in the local scene there. The following year they relocated to the Island of Maui, Hawaii, where they continued writing and performing. Justin and Matt met drummer James Bowersox and bassist John Micheal Jelliffe on Maui. Soon after that sonic explosion the band began performing electrified as a four piece, and created the sound the world now knows as “YumYum Beast.”
YumYum Beast writes and performs original songs and sound-scapes. The band creates their sound with drums, bass, guitar, acoustic lap steel, and 5 string banjo. YumYum Beast’s main focus is to bring people together and to connect people with the band and with each other.
